Refund policy
Effective date: July 12, 2026.
This refund policy explains how purchases of Superset Files are handled and what your options are before and after you buy. It applies to licenses purchased for the Superset Files macOS application ("Superset Files", "the app"). The licensor of the software is Elena Maher ("we", "us", "our"); purchases are sold through our third-party merchant of record — for the direct-download launch, Freemius (see below).
Please read this policy together with the End-User License Agreement and the Privacy Policy. If there is any conflict between this policy and a mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to you, that law governs to the extent it cannot be waived.
Summary
- There is a free 14-day trial. You can evaluate the full application before you pay anything.
- Because you can fully evaluate the app before buying, all purchases are final and non-refundable, except where a mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
- License-key, activation, and lost-key problems are handled as support, not refunds. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve them.
Try before you buy: the 14-day free trial
Superset Files offers a free 14-day trial. The trial does not require a card or payment, and it gives you access to the full application so you can decide whether it meets your needs before you purchase a license.
Because the trial lets you evaluate the complete product at no cost and no risk, we treat the decision to buy as an informed one. We encourage you to use the trial period to confirm that the app works the way you expect on your own Mac and with your own files.
All sales are final
A Superset Files license is a one-time purchase of a perpetual license for the major version you buy, delivered as a digital license key and access to signed downloadable builds. Because the product is a digital good that is made available to you immediately, and because the free trial lets you evaluate it in full beforehand, all purchases are final and we do not offer refunds except where required by law.
This means we do not provide refunds for reasons including, but not limited to:
- changing your mind after purchase;
- deciding you no longer need or want the app;
- buying by mistake, or buying more licenses than you needed;
- lack of a specific feature, where that feature was not represented as included at the time of purchase;
- your device, operating system, or environment not meeting the app's requirements, where those requirements were available to you before purchase.
Nothing in this section creates any refund entitlement beyond the minimum required by applicable mandatory law.
Your statutory rights are preserved
This policy does not limit or exclude any rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived by agreement. Where such mandatory rights apply to you, we honor them. In particular, and without limiting other rights you may have:
- European Union / United Kingdom. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within a set period. That right can be lost once supply of the digital content begins with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal. Where a non-waivable right of withdrawal still applies to your purchase, we will honor it.
- Australia. If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. Where those consumer guarantees apply and are not met, you may be entitled to a remedy as provided by that law.
- Other jurisdictions. If the law of your place of residence grants you other mandatory refund, cancellation, or withdrawal rights that cannot be waived, those rights continue to apply and are not affected by this policy.
Where you assert a mandatory statutory right, we may ask you for reasonable information to verify your purchase and the basis of your request.
How purchases and refund requests are handled (merchant of record)
Payments for Superset Files are processed by our merchant of record, who is the seller of record for your transaction, issues your receipt, and is responsible for handling applicable sales tax and VAT. For the direct-download launch, our merchant of record is Freemius.
As a result:
- Your order, receipt, and payment records are managed through the merchant of record.
- Any request that involves a payment action — including a refund required by a mandatory statutory right, or a payment dispute — is processed through the merchant of record and is also subject to its own buyer terms and buyer-protection policies, which may differ from this policy.
- Chargebacks and payment disputes are handled by the merchant of record and your payment provider under their respective terms.
To reach us about a purchase, or to ask us to assist with a request that must be processed by the merchant of record, contact support@supersetfiles.com. Please include your order or receipt reference so we can locate the purchase.
License keys, activation, and lost keys are support matters
Problems with a license key are handled as support, not as grounds for a refund. This includes:
- not receiving your license key after purchase;
- losing or misplacing a license key;
- a key that fails to activate, or activation that does not complete;
- moving your license to a new Mac within your permitted activations;
- trouble downloading or installing a signed build.
If you run into any of these, contact support@supersetfiles.com. We will make reasonable efforts to help you recover a key or complete activation so that you can use the license you purchased. Providing this assistance does not create, and should not be read as creating, any entitlement to a refund.
Nothing in this policy is a promise of any particular support response time, availability, or service level. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis.
No warranty; limits on our obligations
Superset Files is licensed under the End-User License Agreement, which provides the app "as is", disclaims warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, and limits our liability. Nothing in this refund policy adds any warranty, guarantee, uptime commitment, data-preservation commitment, or other obligation beyond what is expressly stated here or required by mandatory law. This policy does not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. Changes do not reduce any mandatory statutory rights you have.
